Originally, it was an expedition of Patriot troops to capture a British garrison. The Patriots launched land attacks, which was proven to be not a good idea since the British were able to get reinforcements fast.

- Considered one of the most worst naval losses for the US

- Located in Castine, Maine
- Paul Revere was an important commander

(Paul Revere later fled to Boston, which resulted in him being court martialed)
