In March 5, 1770 the Boston massacre occurred when a crowd of citizens confronted eight British soldiers in the streets of Boston. The British soldiers fired their muskets into the crowd as the outraged mob insulted and threatened them. They ended up killing three and mortally wounding two others. Crispus Attucks was the first to fall, becoming one of the first men to lose his life in the cause of American independence. All five of the victims were buried on March 8th three days after the Boston massacre.
