Loyalist Militia Capt John Crawford was to harass settlers in the Long Cane area. At the Whitehall Plantation, home of patriot Gen Andrew Williamson was turned into a military post by Andrew Pickens. Capt Crawford attacked and defeated the Patriots burning the fortifications.
