Allies vs. Italy vs. Germany
The allies planned on invading Italy, which they did, in order to wipe Italy out of the war, this semi-worked as it knocked out Mussolini's government, but then quickly the attack depleted. Shortly after this however, Germans rushed into Italy and managed to demolish Rome and stop any American southward advancement.
