Sam witnesses Damien destroy Anna outside the boys’ common room in the Boys’ Dorm block. He goes out and comforts her. She lets him. And this is the beginning of their friendship.

Same night - Goes back to his dorm to find Tom, Dominic, Will, Sticks, Bender and Susannah. He’s witnessed the bullying. Seen it all and doesn’t agree with it. Goes to them and professes that he’s done with Damien and he want to help. They let him.
