In 1945, 50 representatives from 50 countries met in San Fransisco to create the United Nations with the goal of the United Nations on International Organisation being an international body to promote peace and prevent future wars. The ideals of the organisation were stated as “We the peoples of the United Nations are determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind."
