Returning from exile, Fidel Castro led a movement during the Cuban Revolution to victory by using tactics such as guerrilla warfare. After overthrowing Bastia, Castro took power and implemented a communist government in Cuba. This event is significant because, with Cuba as a communist country, the United States now had a communist threat located only a few miles from the coast.
