Czarina Alexandra was the wife of Nicholas II and the Empress of the Russian Empire until she was shot to death on July 17th, 1918. She is largely credited with the rise of revolutionaries and is one of the large reasons that the government of her and her husband collapsed. After her son was diagnosed with hemophilia, she placed all of her trust in a mystic healer, Rasputin whom she met in 1905. While her husband went off to fight World War I, she placed total trust in Rasputin. He called all of the shots and was in virtual control of the government. The people were angered by Alexandra’s rash and irresponsible decision to trust this man so much. This made the revolutionaries even more mad and made them even more upset at the current government, fueling the revolution. This irresponsible empress was the final straw for the unfair government and was a large reason the revolution that would end this government once and for all. The day that she was put in charge of the domestic affairs of Russia was the way she influenced the revolution the most. On this day, she was given power over the country and began to confide in Rasputin. This is how the people began to get even more upset at the royal family, and it is one of the reasons that they called for a revolution.
