Formed by Har Dayal in collaboration with Sohan Singh Bhakna and Pandit Kanshi Ram. together, they purchased a printing press and launced vernacular newspapers in Urdu and Punjabi. They also purchased a house in San Francisco that was to house the publishing venture and serve as a meeting place. This was named the Yugantar Ashram, or the Advent of a New Age Ashram.
