After the Russian Social-Democratic Labor Party meeting was held, they split into two factions: Mensheviks (minority) and Bolsheviks (majority). The Bolsheviks were led by Lenin, seized power and destroyed the tradition of czarist rule. The Bolsheviks would later become the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
