asanka Sekhar Hazara alias Amrita Lai Hazara, Dinesh Chandra Sen Gupta, Chandra Sekhar De and Sarda Charanguha were arrested on the spot and the material sufficient for bomb-making was taken in custody. Later, Kalipada Ghosh alias Upendra Lai Ray Chaudhari and Khagendra Nath Chaudhari alias Suresh Chandra Chaudhari were also arrested in this case from different places. All six were prosecuted under section 120-B IPC, in what was known as Raja Bazar Bomb Case.
The verdict of 'not guilty' was given by the assessors, but the judgement was reserved. On 5th June 1914, the judgement was announced and all the accused except Khagendra Nath Chaudhari were convicted and each of them were sentenced to transportation for ten years. The first four were also found guilty and convicted under Section 4 of the Explosive Substances Act. Amrita Lai Hazara was sentenced to transportation for fifteen years, while the other three were sentenced to transportation for ten years each. In the appeals heard by Justices "Mukharji" and Richardson of the Calcutta high court, the judgement was announced on 25th February 1915 by which Amrita Lai Hazara was convicted in case u/s 120-B IPC and also under the Explosive Substances Act while all the others were acquitted. Amrita Lai Hazara was sentenced to transportation for fifteen years. He was deported to the Andamans.
