- after winning in Battle of Plassey. British monopolized the trade and commerce in Bengal. Mir Jafar gave large sums of money and zamindari of 24 Pargans

- Mir Jafar helped the Britishers in the war and was made Nawab of Bengal
- but later Mir Jafar got involved in a conspiracy with the Dutch leading to Britishers anguish and further removal

- British made Mir Kasim as new nawab of Bengal
