Three beholder colony spelljammer ships crash in the Alimir mountains of Toril, they establish the Alimir hive.

Beholders who survived the crash emerge from the Alimir Mountains and lay waste to Calimshan's eastern garrisons. They are eventually forced back into the mountains.

During a victory celebration for their triumph over the beholders, the bakkal of the Tavihr Dynasty and his twelve heirs are assassinated. Their palace is set on fire and its flames eventually spread over the western half of Calimport, devastating the land and ending the Tavihr Dynasty. The Erehnir Dynasty rises to power.
