This was the first year of middle school, and I struggled socially. I had no real connection with any of my teachers and made no new friends. I played varsity volleyball, so everyone assumed I fit in and was fine, but really, I wasn’t, and I hated going to school. The most memorable teacher I had was my pre-algebra teacher, Mr. V. It was the first time I struggled with any subject in school and he went out of his way the whole year to tutor me until I understood the content, which I will always remember.
