Gwen Stacy is among 8 students killed when a student at Forest Hills High School brings a gun to school with the intention of killing his bullies. Peter was not at school during the incident, and was powerless to stop the senseless tragedy. George Stacy resigns from the police force, unable to reconcile with the loss of his daughter. He begins drinking.
