The Battle of Chickamauga was a decisive victory for the Confederates but lost the Confederate army 20 percent of its force. It was fought near Chickamauga Creek, between General William Rosecrans's army and Confederate general Braxton Bragg's Army of Tennessee. It resulted in rebels forcing Rosecrans to give way, and leading to a Confederate victory.
