21 июл 1925 г. - Scopes Trial
Описание:
The Scopes Trial was the the prosecution of a Tennessee public school substitute science teacher John Scopes. He was prosecuted for the purpose of teaching evolution, which the Butler Act had recently made it illegal to teach in Tennessee. William Jennings Bryan defended Scopes against the opposing attorney Clarence Darrow. Bryan was a publicly known advocate for the legitimacy of Darwin’s theory of evolution along with Darrow being publicly known for his agonistic views. This trial’s best recognized for its displayed argument of science vs. religion.
