Mega Man was the second successful Humanoid Robot that was a successor to Proto-Man made by Dr. Wily. Mega-Man was created by Dr. Wily and his partner Dr. Light in private. Dr. Wily showed his partner his research and development of Proto-Man and they decided to work together on the Project. However Dr. Light wanted to reveal his creation to the public. Dr. Wily strongly refused to show his research, however light told him he would just take the research as his and build a new android for the public since he already has been working on Mega-Man. Dr. Wily secretly Programmed Proto-Man to try and kill Dr. Light before he could leave with his research but treat it as a malfunction. Dr. Light found this out when running the diagnostics on Mega-Man and finding the recordings from Mega-Man's data. Dr. Light saw that perhaps this technology merely existing was a threat to humanity since it would be used to kill, he programmed Mega-Man to destroy Proto-Man and himself as well as the research. Later Dr. Wily took revenge on his former partner and caused a malfunction in the research lab they were working in resulting in the death of Dr. Light. It was found out that Dr. Wily intentionally did this and he was arrested and his property was seized. The evidence of Mega-Man and Proto-Man was still there as well as the research was still intact in backups. The report was hidden from the public however access to the AI and technology used was made available by corporations such as Cyberlife and Tesla.
