The Council for Fashion Designers of America for the very first time ever gave their Fashion Icon Award to a male.

Johnny could not attend due to filming commitments on The Lone Ranger so John Waters (the director of Cry Baby and friend of Johnny) accepted the award on Johnny’s behalf.
