Описание:

The 24th Amendment abolished poll taxes being a requirement to vote. This Amendment was important because African Americans in the South faced so much discrimination and couldn't vote for officials that would end that discrimination because of poll taxes. Even though it wasn't that much money poor whites and African Americans had trouble paying and that stopped them from voting. Since the poll taxes were now gone this allowed for more African Americans to vote.
