Regular payments to crime victims or to the courts. Used alone or in conjunction with probation or ISP. One example of restitution would be shoplifters being ordered to repay stores for the cost of items stolen. Others more serious crimes such as white collar crimes like fraud could also see restitution and fines as part of the punishment.
