When Gabi's house burns down in the middle of Maple Park, their leader takes her in temporarily as the small town processes the death of their close friends. When Zinhle tells everyone about Gabi's destined betrayal, the authority figures forget about Gabi's loss and grief. They "have no choice" but to shun her from their society and hope she doesn't return to take revenge on them later. Gabi is forced to leave town, and her anger mushrooms exponentially.
