On April 12th, 1861, Confederate forces assaulted and bombarded the Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter was a Union Fort located near Charleston, South Carolina. The Confederate bombardment last two days, until the Union soldiers were forced to surrender. This battle sparked the being of the Civil War. Also oddly enough, this battle ended with no casualties.
