Debs, for help | he directed RR workers to boycott Pullman | tied up RR transportation across US|<<<<< THEN>>>>>| |CAUSE:| In response to Pullman strike, RR owners appealed to president Cleveland, asking him to use army to force Pullman to cooperate and keep mail trains running | DECISION:| fed court forbid interference w operation of mail/ordered RR workers to abandon boycott/strike | EFFECT:| Debs and other union leaders were jailed, for refusing to obey order, ending the strike
