Tsar Alexander, also known as Alexander the Liberator, is killed by a bomb thrown in the streets of St. Petersburg, Russia. He is assassinated by the People’s Will, a radical group with the intention of overthrowing Russia’s tsarist regime. Alexander III then succeeds his father.
