Using the collective power of some Mewtwos, they mine through the Diamond. It takes a while, but they manage to get a little bit of Pure Diancie DNA. The genetic mutation is difficult to understand, and is unknown to the scientists, so modifying Carbinks would be impossible, but cloning would be easier. However, they're gonna need a lot of energy.
