Johnny Depp had a very busy Monday, spending five hours entertaining sick kids at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver before cuddling up to an adorable canine companion on the set of his film Richard Says Goodbye.

The charitable 54-year-old greeted each patient one-on-one, including newborns and teens, in costume as his charismatic rogue pirate, Captain Jack.

'Do you know which way is the hospital?' the three-time Oscar nominee - sporting 'guy-liner' - asked in the BCCH Facebook video.

Johnny delighted the brave children battling life-threatening illnesses by hosting a Pirate Party in the playroom where hats, eye patches, and plastic swords were distributed.

'I didn't wake up in the morning knowing I was going to see Johnny Depp today!' one teenage patient exclaimed by her bed.
