Johnny Depp featured heavily in the promotional materials, posters and Internet media plus magazine covers and so forth but took no part in attending premieres or press conferences for this film.

This is highly unusual for Johnny Depp.

There had been a horrible reaction to his character, The Wolf, being called creepy and a paedophile. We have no idea if the contract released Johnny from in-person promotion or if it was a change of heart by the film producers/promotors to remove him in light of the backlash to the character and the disastrous Hollywood Film Awards that did not sit well with Disney.
