200 - תנאיםThe משנה is תורה שבעל פה written down. The rabbis - namely ר׳ יהודה הנשיא - feared that in exile, the Jews would forget the Oral Traditions that were passed down from משה at הר סיני. The משנה consists of 6 סדרים that work systemically to explain primarily הלכה and other topics. משנה is also referred to as ש׳׳ס, for ששה סדרים.
