The Treaty of Versailles was one of the most important peace treaties, and it ended WWI. It forced Germany to reduce the size of its military, pay war reparations, cede territory to other countries, and take responsibility for the entire war. This both solved and created problems, and it's what led to Germans being so accepting of Hilter- he promised a better future for them.
