Recently Japan has finalized a new nuclear power plant. It is called Fuqing-6 and is similar to the Fukushima reactor which is a Hualong-1 type. A Hualong -1 reactor is essentially a pressurized water nuclear reactor that was developed by a group of Chinese nuclear power workers or CGN. Yet it is debatable whether this is a good decision or not. The Hualong-1 model being a fairly common model has had many past mistakes and cause many accidents. Like the Fukushima accident. It is questionable as to the decision China has made to have the same model of a reactor to Fukushima. It has become evident that the world is not learning from its past nuclear mishaps like Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, then Fukushima. While all of these accidents may not seem very related as all of the accidents' root causes were slightly different, they are all connected by the exact way they failed; by the cooling system. One could argue that the root causes are not the reasoning behind the accident, rather our inability to look at the past and learn from our mistakes. It is very likely the Fuqing-6 will also meltdown or fail in some way.
