Описание:

Some argued that this convention was the end of the federalist party. Radical federalist threatened to secede from the union shortly before the war ended. After the Hartford convention the treaty of Ghent was shortly signed and afterwards the threat of seceding the union painted the federalist in a bad light making them look as unpatriotic and traitors.
