March 19: Sanchez tells them about Figueroa and Trinidad’s research. He seems excited by the prospect of Leo Simmons filming the site, a bit less so when he learns he wants payment but he agrees. Figure out a decent payout for a budget-driven professor.

When she doesn’t show up they go down to the basement to investigate. In a dark back corner they discover her desiccated corpse and flesh from burned fingers on the gold. Petunia suffers a bout of insanity and is paranoid about her fellow adventurers. Sven sees a clump of De Mendoza’s cotton shirt that smells of Larkin’s cologne.

Overwhelmed by the scene, Prof. Sanchez gives Maggie the notes and goes upstairs to have a moment alone in his office. After failing to translate the notes the party hears a disturbance upstairs.

Prof. Sanchez is on the floor writhing, Major James Taylor manages to get him to vomit up a horrifying maggot. While the party is gawking the maggot leaps at Clarence Boon. Major Taylor shoots it out of the air and the party takes a moment to breath while Professor Sanchez recovers.

March 19: session 2 start
Party splits up, some to buy supplies, some to research what the conquistadors looked like. They find a sketch by Pedro de Valasco that shows all the conquistadors that visited the pyramid, Luis de Mendoza looks strikingly similar, and theres a drawing that Sven recognizes as looking like the ominous beggar he saw the night before. Leo Simmons develops his film of de Mendoza to see if vampire-style he doesn’t show up, but he does. Leo comments to Clarence how strange it would be if he didn’t.

In the alleyway Jackson Elias sits with Sven for a bit. Sven is hostile, not trusting Jackson Elias, but he succeeds a Psychology check and can see that Elias is genuinely offering an olive branch. Sven refuses, but maaaaaybe starts to trust Elias.
