After the last battle of the Pyrrhic War which took place in southern Italy, the Romans won and negotiate a peace with Pyrrhus, where Pyrrhus agrees to leave Italy and all of his land holdings, which gave Rome power over those lands. Rome now controls all of the Italian peninsula.
