When Saurvan is born of the union of the Renn, the Willgiver, and Rava of the Fury, the chaotic essence of Vika’s Flame of Rage (Passed through Rava’s aspect of it) causes the newborn god to fly into a primal rage, which he directs at the peoples of Ár. For a cycle he brings destruction to every place he passes through, until his rampaging journey takes him to Murkunvir, home to the Vourenkinn. There he terrorizes the developing rage, killing a great score of them until a champion of name unknown gives him battle, matching his godly might blow for blow. What results of the struggle is a standstill, upon which the warrior Vourenkinn perishes and Saurvan’s rage is quelled, allowing the god to think clearly.
The brave champion would later be given the name of Svarfinyort (Godheart), for surely no mere mortal born of the Ár could have accomplish a deed as great bereft of a divine tinge to their blood. A shroud of great mystery surrounds this character, for historians and other keepers of lore have found no previous mention of him, neither of any other being of comparable might. Logic dictates that for a being to match a god’s might, they should at the least be as powerful as Lingard, whom despite not being of any divine kind was able to defeat Svarfina in direct combat.
This statement has led many to believe that none other than the First came to the Vourenkinn’s aid upon the end of Saurvan’s Rampage, disguised as one of Svarfina’s children, and that by arcane trickery he faked his own death to inspire the newborn god, the Ten upon Stone and the Vourenkinn alike . This, of course, has not been proven true, but even eons later the whisper of a transient mortal matching a god is still adrift in the wind, traveling from ear to ear.
