The Seneca Falls Convention marked the first woman's rights convention in America. Only ~300 people attending, most being residents. The five women who organized the event were abolitionists as well and called for the end of slavery and racial discrimination. The five women were Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Mary M’Clintock, Martha Coffin Wright, and Jane Hunt.
Importance—The Seneca Falls Convention and what it stood for in the eyes of many women was a turning point in the fight for women's rights and showed direct results of the Second Great Awakening.
Connection—This convention connects back to the Second Great Awakening where religious people began to vie for social reform and also started movements for women's rights and slavery abolition.
