This study was done to document the underlying prejudice against people with different sounding names in LA landlord replies. 1,115 landlords of vacant properties replied to potential renters named either Patrick McDougall, Said Al-Rahman, or Tyrell Jackson. They found that Patrick had an 89% positive reply back, Said had a 59% positive reply back, and Tyrell only had a 56% positive reply back. These were all internalized prejudices.
