Union General McClellan decides to go confront the Confederates at Maryland and it results in the battle of Antietam. The Union successgfully stopped the invasion from the confederates but the McClellan decided not to keep on pushing. Lincoln was disapointed in him because the Union had an army twice as big and could've easily pushed more to win faster. This resulted in Mclellan being fired.
