The Duchy of Esaslèm is invaded by the Republic of Oipienta during the Third Hells War and becomes Occupied Esaslèm. Food and supplies were cut off from Esaslèm by Oipienta to further weaken the Esasli people to surrender.

During the Oipientian Occupation of Esaslèm, the Esasi were constantly being harrassed by the stationed soldiers. Their antagonizing behavior led to the built up anger the cityfolk had which directly led to the Esas River Burning.
