Описание:
Composer: Philippe de Vitry
The title translates to “As with the statue of/Hugh, Hugh/Master of envy”. It is a motet with three parts. It doesn't seem to have been written over a contrafactum as it appears he wrote the tenor part. It is similar to sections in both the duplum and triplum. The duplum ttacks someone named Hugh who criticized Vitry unfairly. The triplum references the biblical story of Daniel explaining Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the statue of various materials. This piece has lots of isorhythm and uses the hocket technique towards the end of the piece.
