In response to the EU and Canadian statements, the Chinese Mission to the EU said that Hong Kong's implementation of "one country, two systems" was based on the Chinese constitution and the Basic Law, not international law, and the affairs of Hong Kong was purely the internal affairs of China and no foreign government or organization had the right to interfere.
