The first arraignment of more than 40 Hong Kong protesters charged with riot and other charges in the July 28 clashes in Sheung Wan took place at the Eastern Magistrates' Court the morning of this day. All the defendants were released on bail and most were required to observe a curfew and not to leave Hong Kong during the period. Nearly a thousand presented to show solidarity outside the court.
