Taiwan's Mainland Affair's Council responded to Hong Kong's legislative amendments, saying the Hong Kong government's amendments were politically motivated, fearing that Taiwanese arriving in Hong Kong would share the fate of Lee Ming-Che , a Taiwanese human rights advocate held captive in China, and calling on the Hong Kong government to sign a mutual legal assistance agreement with Taiwan to solve the problem.
