(1789): The Storming of the Bastille took place because the people of France were tired and hungry and wanted change, all of France was in poverty, they stormed the Bastille for weapons and gunpowder and freed the prisoners. The effect was the people now had weapons to fight back if the king tried to put the revolt down.
