Chris was discovered and discussed on the SomethingAwful fora. On the same day, Mimms, a patron of the Game Place, takes an infamous photograph of Chris and uploads it to 4Chan.

Soon after, Chris would become known on 4Chan and other sites, which would prompt a page to be made on Encyclopedia Dramatica.
