In 1608, the French founded the region of Quebec in hopes of gaining more profit and territory. The main purpose of founding the region in a distant territory from homeland, was for trade and commerce. The main goal of merchants and the country was to gain profit in any was they could. When opportunity came, people would take it, especially if they could charge more for across the sea delivery.
