Spanish factions use guerilla tactics in an attempt to drive French troops from Spain, but on June 21, 1813, British, Portuguese, and Spanish troops unite against the French at Vitoria, and Napoleon is finally defeated. Soon all of the Iberian Peninsula is liberated from French control.
