Around 5:15 p.m. a National Park ranger saw a Ford F-250 truck driving erratically. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver, Charles Gage Lorentz, reportedly got out and was confronted by the ranger, who shot and killed him. Details as to what precipitated the killing were withheld by police.
