INDIA has warned its citizens to be prepared for a possible invasion of locusts on a biblical scale after swarms ravaged areas in the north.

So far, the millions of locusts have devoured around 50,000 hectares of crops.

KL Gurjar, deputy director of India's Locust Warning Organisation, previously said this is the “biggest invasion in nearly three decades”. (Express)
