The Incas were weakened by a civil war, and further by disease, making them vulnerable to the Spaniards. After the spaniards captured and executed the Inca leader, they were able to conquer the rest of the empire with the help of natives who wanted the Incas defeated. This gave the Spaniards considerable wealth.
